Richard Alvarenga

Richard Alvarenga is a talented photographer, located in Des Moines, Iowa. Coming from a Salvadorian family, he speaks both English and Spanish fluently. 10 years ago a passion sparked for the art of photography. He began volunteering at his local church by photographing conventions, concerts, camps and portraiture which allowed him to developed a skillful repertoire. After graduating from Hoover High School in 2015, he decided to proceed with Photography as his career. In 2016 he graduated with his Degree in Photography from the DMACC photo program in Ankeny.

After college he took a few years to work with professionals around the area. Working on commercial sets for magazines at Meredith Corp, Pottery Barn, Walmart, and other big sets!

Forming art with light is what Richard enjoys to do with all his projects.

Richard has a studio space inside of Mainframes Studios. He’s a full-time photographer, videographer and artist while being a part-time college for the DMACC photography program.
